No caffeine daily for children

Children who habitually consume caffeine, especially by cola-based drinks, are likely to get your fill of this psychoactive substance with negative consequences on sleep quality. For this reason, parents should be less complacent and not to satisfy a sweet tooth always drinks containing this substance. The warning comes from researchers at the University of Nebraska, the authors of a study published in the journal Journal of Pediatrics.

DANGEROUS RELATIONS - American researchers have asked parents of 200 children aged between 5 and 12 years to report what was the amount of snacks and drinks consumed by children on average during the day. The data show that about 75 percent of the children involved in the study took caffeine regularly. In particular, some children as young as 5 years consumed the equivalent of a canned drink per day, while several boys aged between 8 and 12 years consumed an average of 109 mg of caffeine per day, the equivalent of almost three cans . Not only that, the experts have found that the more caffeine consumed, and the children was their worst night's sleep. Another curious fact about the relationship between intake of soft drinks and wet the bed at night, contrary to popular belief there was no evidence linking the two phenomena, although caffeine has diuretic properties.

SOURCES - All parents know that coffee is bad for children, but what I do not know, or do not think, is that this substance is not only contained in coffee.
