Images shown in how stress affects the brain

New research conducted by the University of New York and published in the journal Science found that during periods of high stress reshapes the brain, activating certain areas and subtracting other effort to cope.

During the study, 80 participants had to watch horror movies or violent, while their brain movements were monitored using MRI. This aims to understand how their brains reacted to stimuli that cause stress and anxiety. Findings were able to show with images when the brain goes on alert activating the parts related to attention and vigilance, as well as the neuroendocrine system demonstrating Thus the mind enters a state of survival in times of stress.
